Essential improvements[edit]

Play without the disc[edit]

At least copying the game files to a folder on your hard drive is the bare minimum requirement for more fixes, if needed.
Music will now loop correctly, and will play on cue 100% of time as side effects to this fix.
How to run the game completely off the hard drive[2]
  1. Copy all of the files from the disc into a folder of your choosing.
  2. Download the _inmm.dll installer and extract it, then run the installer.
  3. Open your game CD in any application that rips audio CDs, and rip the audio into an easy to find place, preferably into a folder in the game’s directory.
  4. Open _inmmcnf.exe, and on the "Method" tab, change the "default" option to DirectShow.
  5. Select the "_inmm.dll" tab, then click "add".
  6. Go to the folder you ripped the game's music into. Then select all of the "track" files.
  7. Select "Save", go to the folder you installed Raiden II in, then save the ini file.
  8. Close _inmmcnf.exe, then drag raidenii.exe onto the _inmmcnf.exe file itself. This will pop up a message asking if you want to patch the executable. Select "Ok".
  9. Launch loader.exe whenever you want to play the game, or launch raidenii.exe to skip the launcher.

Issues fixed[edit]

Fix stretched output in fullscreen mode[edit]

Fullscreen mode fix[6]
  1. Copy the contents of the game disc to a folder, if you haven't already.
  2. Download dgVoodoo.
  3. Extract dgVoodooCpl.exe and dgVoodoo.conf to <path-to-game>, where raidenii.exe resides.
  4. Open the MS folder in the dgVoodoo zip and extract DDraw.dll, D3DImm.dll, and D3D8.dll to <path-to-game>, again where raidenii.exe resides.
  5. Open dgVoodooCpl.exe.
  6. Make sure the Config folder / Running instance is set to <path-to-game>, it may already be there by default.
  7. In the General tab, set Adapter(s) to use / enable to your current graphics card, Appearance to Full Screen, and Scaling mode to either Stretched, keep Aspect Ratio or Stretched, 4:3 Aspect Ratio.
  8. In the DirectX tab, make sure Disable and passthru to real DirectX is unchecked, and set Resolution to Max. You can uncheck dgVoodoo Watermark if you wish.
  9. Click Apply and exit the program.
  10. Open the game, and select fullscreen mode in the options menu.
