Phantom Breaker: Omnia is a side view fighting game developed by MAGEs. and GameLoop and published by Rocket Panda Games. It is an updated version of Phantom Breaker: Extra, which itself was also another updated version of the original Phantom Breaker that was previously exclusive to the Xbox 360 and unavailable outside of Japan.

The original game, Phantom Breaker, was released exclusively in Japan for Xbox 360 in 2011 and it is the spiritual successor to the Asuka 120% series developed by Fill-in-Café. 7Sixty Games, a subsidiary of SouthPeak Games, obtained the rights to publish and localize the game for a 2012 release, however, due to numerous delays, cancelations, and unrelated lawsuits being filed against SouthPeak Games, 7Sixty Games and their parent company folded and ceased operations in 2013.

An updated version of the game, Phantom Breaker: Extra, was later released in Japan for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012, with the latter also being a region-free release for the system whereas the original Phantom Breaker was region-locked. This version of the game features four new playable characters, new techniques, a third "Extra" Style, a new Scenario Battle mode in place of the original game's Story mode, reworked background effects, rebalanced gameplay, and an online spectator mode.

On October 15, 2020, Rocket Panda Games announced that they would release an expanded version of Phantom Breaker: Extra, titled Phantom Breaker: Omnia, worldwide for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch in 2021.[1] It features the same playable roster from Phantom Breaker: Extra with two additional characters, a new "Omnia" Style in place of the "Extra" Style, both the Story and Scenario Battle modes from the previous versions of the game, gameplay adjustments, an optional remix soundtrack, and dual-audio support for English and Japanese voice-overs. The game, however, was delayed to 2022 instead, but Rocket Panda Games as well as the original game's producer and director, Masaki Sakari, ensured players that the game would be releasing that year.[2] A pre-release demo of the PC version on February 11, 2022 through Steam for a limited time, although it has became available again after the game's release. The game was released on PC and all designated consoles on March 15, 2022, and the game's launch had some issues as online matchmaking would cause errors for certain users, the game had problems with ultra widescreen resolutions in fullscreen mode, initially lacks support for keyboard remapping, and users running into their multiplayer ranking data being reset when connecting through the online servers.[3]

A majority of the game's glaring issues has since been addressed along with additional gameplay rebalancing through patches, with the most recent patch being released on October 5, 2022.[4] Online multiplayer activity, however, has been absent outside of arranging matches with other players through the Steam forums or the publisher's Discord.
