Essential improvements

Remove black scanlines in DOSBox

Removing black scanlines by using DOSBox SVN Daum[4]
  1. Download DOSBox SVN Daum and extract it into <path-to-game>\DOSBOX overwriting any files when asked.
  2. Download fixvideo.fx and move it to <path-to-game>\DOSBOX\SHADERS
  3. Edit dosboxPHANT2.conf with a text editor and change the line output=overlay to output=Direct3D.
  4. Add the line pixelshader=fixvideo.fx underneath and save.
Only works with the Direct3D renderer.

SquirtTheCat patch

W10, Vista & XP support, removes scanlines, fixes bugs
  1. Download and run SquirtTheCat installer and install from discs.
Only works with Windows 95 version discs.

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/501970/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (501970) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
