New The Legend of Heroes IV: Akai Shizuku is a singleplayer third-person JRPG game in the The Legend of Heroes series.

The title of the original Japanese edition is 新·英雄伝説IV 朱紅い雫(New The Legend of Heroes IV A Tear of Vermillion), Simplified Chinese title is 新英雄传说IV:朱红的泪(New The Legend of Heroes IV Tear of Vermilion).

The official English version was first released on PSP. However, the release order is different from that in Japan. The first title of PSP version is The Legend of Heroes.Subtitles A Tear of Vermillion have been added in subsequent versions.

In Japan, game has three versions released:Windows 98 / Me（Both CD and DVD versions are included), Windows XP and Windows Vista（DVD only). However, except for some compatibility problems, any version can run on Windows 7 .After the Windows XP version, the title has deleted the word 新（New).

Simplified Chinese version based on Windows 98/Me version.

Japanese digital release available on Magino Drive,based on Windows Vista version.
