settings.bin
is a binary file which contains all types of game settings, including mod-related.

settings_backup.bin
is an automatically created backup file of the settings file. This can be useful in some cases where your main file has been corrupted or lost.
Save game data location
- Mindustry uses separate subdirectories for different types of files:

maps
stores custom maps.
-
mods
stores installed mods, whether enabled or disabled.
-
saves
stores progress for both campaign and custom maps.
-
schematics
stores in-game schematics.
-
screenshots
stores entire-map screenshots taken in-game with the "Map Screenshot" key, P by default.
There are additional files and subdirectories in the root Mindustry
directory, though they're somewhat less important for most players.
