Field of view (FOV)[edit]

Game contains field of view slider in menu. Users can set field of view from 70° to 110°.
This setting is saved in binary autosave file which prevent from easily tweaking this value.
FOV fine tweaking[citation needed]
  1. Go to %USERPROFILE%\My Games\Magrunner\YoshiGame\Config\
  2. Open YoshiInput.ini.
  3. Locate section [Engine.PlayerInput] and add this line:
    Bindings=(Name="XXX",Command="FOV YYY")
    where XXX is name of your desired key and YYY is your desired field of view value.

This will break ingame zoom command so you need to create your own. See Zoom fix below.
You need to hit your FOV key every time you start the game or game reverts FOV to its set value.
Alternatively you can just use tweaked zoom key instead of dedicated FOV key.
For reverting FOV to default value hit original zoom key or create binding with YoshiResetCameraFov command.
Zoom fix[citation needed]
  1. Launch the game, go to keyboard settings and bind zoom command to key which are you not going to use so that you clear your desired zoom key.
  2. Go to %USERPROFILE%\My Games\Magrunner\YoshiGame\Config\
  3. Open YoshiInput.ini.
  4. Locate the [Engine.PlayerInput] section.
  5. Look for your desired zoom key and change the line to this:
    Bindings=(Name="XXX",Command="FOV 40 | Onrelease FOV YYY")
    where XXX is name of your desired key and YYY is your desired field of view value.

Alternatively you can change 40 to lower value and achieve greater zoom magnification.

High frame rate[edit]

Game features frame rate limiter that limits max frame rate to 62 FPS.
Disable frame rate limiter[citation needed]
  1. Go to the configuration files location.
  2. Open YoshiEngine.ini.
  3. Change bSmoothFrameRate=TRUE to FALSE.

Note that it's change game physics and at some puzzles you need capped fps. At high frame rates gravity have stronger value, at low frame rate gravity is low.
