Install LI2 Mod Manager[1]
  1. Download the latest version of LI2 Mod Manager.
  2. Extract into <path-to-game>
  3. Run LI2ModManager.exe, check the settings you want and click "Apply".

Long load times[edit]

Poor framerate on Windows 8[edit]

Use the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit[2]
  1. Install Microsoft ACT
  2. Run the Compatibility Administrator (32-bit)
  3. Select New Database (1) and press Fix
  4. Fill in the program name, as well as the location of the program. Press next.
  5. Press Next again
  6. Select NoGDIHWAcceleration
  7. Press Next
  8. Press Select All
  9. Press Finish
  10. Press Save, select the database name and save location
  11. Press File - Install

Always starts in low resolution[edit]

  1. Install LI2 Mod Manager.
  2. Check Use custom resolution.
  3. Enter your desired resolution into the Custom Resolution field.
  4. Press Apply.

Notes

This removes all resolution options other than the one you've entered but also starts the game in that resolution.
