Warnings

The macOS (OS X) version of this game does not work on macOS Catalina (version 10.15) or later due to the removal of support for 32-bit-only apps.

Jets'n'Guns is an indie side view shoot'em up, featuring huge level of environment destruction and original soundtrack composed by Machinae Supremacy.

The game was originally released on November 17, 2004. On April 19, 2006 OS X version was released. In December of 2006 an upgraded version of the game called Jets'n'Guns Gold was released, featuring upgraded resolution of 800x600. Finally on Janury 30, 2009 a Linux version developed by Linux Game Publishing was also released.

The game successfully passed through Steam Greenlight submission and was re-released in digital form on Steam on February 5, 2014. Unfortunately, many of the original game's limitations, like fixed 4:3 aspect ratio remain present.

Update the built-in BASS library.[5]
  1. Download the BASS library's Linux version from the official website: - press on BASS on the left panel, then on the Linux button on the Download string.
  2. Extract its file libbass.so from the libs\x86 directory and replace the game's built-in BASS library placed at JnG Gold/lib32/libbass.so with the libbass.so you have extracted.

Executing strings JnG.exe | grep -i "directx 9" gives "Please install Microsoft DirectX 9.0b drivers or later" message.

Independent from CPU and GPU. Last time I tried multiple Sunrays on Linux port, they didn't seem to lag? Needs further investigation. Afterburner says the CPU chills down during the lag, so it seems to be an OS issue
