An unofficial PC port of the expansion exclusive for the PlayStation 2 version of Half-Life. Due to various technical differences and limitations of GoldSrc engine itself, the console's original local split-screen mode were replaced by LAN-based system. Although the single player mode remained.

Field of view (FOV)

When running at widescreen resolutions, adjusting the field of view may be necessary.

First Method:

  1. While in game, push ~, which opens the developer console.
  2. Type default_fov 106.270273206 and press Enter.

Second Method:

  1. Alternatively you can also open config.cfg located in <path-to-game>\Half-Life\Decay\.
  2. Add the following to the bottom of it.

For 16:10: default_fov 100.39487232

For 16:9: default_fov 106.270273206

Notes

If the new fov doesn't stick try creating an autoexec.cfg file in the same folder and adding the line to it.

Borderless fullscreen windowed

  1. Find Decay in your Steam Library
  2. Right-click the game name
  3. Select Properties
  4. Select Set Launch Options...
  5. Input -window -noborder
  6. Press OK
  7. Launch the game

High frame rate

  1. To change this open config.cfg
  2. Change the line fps_max "72.0".

Unlocking levels

Loading and unlocking levels if your save is bugged[citation needed]
The game is a bit glitchy and you may lose your save at times, use this to return to your previous point in the game.
  1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\<user-id>\half-life\decay\maps and C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\<user-id>\dedicated server\de\maps
  2. Rename the levels to what you want
  3. Load the renamed level
