Glider is a singleplayer flip screen action game in the Glider series.

The original version was released in 1988. The following year, John Calhoun released an improved version (Glider 2.0) under the shareware model, paying $10 players could get a floppy with updates and the source code for the game. In 1990, Glider 3.0 was released with sound effects added. From this version until the 3.1.2 version (released in 1991), players could pay $15 to get access to the source code.

With the release of Glider 3.14 in 1993, the game becomes freeware to promote Glider 4.0.
