Issues unresolved
Game crashes when trying to load a save that was created during a dialog
- The game may crash with the error
GAME: Invalid talk node ID.
Issues fixed
Game crashes when attempting to load or save
- The error message is
CTRL: FindFirstFileEx failed. The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
- The game assumes maximum Windows path length and only allocates a buffer that is just big enough.
- A typical Steam installation of the game has a path length that just exceeds this limit.
Choose a shorter path to install the game to. For the Steam version, refer to this guide.[citation needed] |
---|
Game crashes when playing cutscene video
- The error message is
CPSE: Stream open file failed.
- This is caused by the Indeo codec not being registered on the system.
See Troubleshooting guide.[1] |

Poor performance and crashes when alt-tabbing

Notes
|
Can't save or load saves on Linux/Steam Deck

in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (289320) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details. - ↑ When running this game without elevated privileges (Run as administrator option), write operations against a location below
%PROGRAMFILES%
,%PROGRAMDATA%
, or%WINDIR%
might be redirected to%LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore
on Windows Vista and later (more details).
