Using DxWnd (Windows 7)[citation needed]
  1. Download DxWnd.

  3. Find V_ON.EXE file, check Optimize CPU load, Correct mouse position and Do not notify on task switch.
  4. Go to the Compat tab and check Handle Exceptions
  5. Click OK then you can double click V_ON on dxwnd list to open the game.
Using DxWrapper (Windows 10)[citation needed]
  1. Download the lastest release of DxWrapper.
  2. Go to <path-to-game>, and extract dxwrapper.dll, dxwrapper.ini and ddraw.dll (the last one is inside "Stub" folder) there.
  3. Open dxwrapper.ini and enable the HandleExceptions attribute by changing the 0 to a 1.
  4. Run the game.
Using _inmm.dll to fix audio

If the music isn't running properly because of a poor ISO rip, etc., and they're in their own directory, use _inmm.exe to fix it.

  1. Make a backup of the game exe.
  2. Download from here.
  3. Install the program anywhere
  4. Patch the EXE by draggin and dropping it into the PATCH tab. Overwriter.
  5. Select the rightmost inmm.ini tab, and drag and drop the extracted music. Save the .ini in the same directory as the game folder.
  6. Run the game. The background audio should now run properly.
