HORI Real Arcade Pro

The HORI Real Arcade Pro V, also known as the RAP V, are a series of arcade game controllers released by Hori since December 24, 2009.

The Real Arcade Pro V has a wide chassis with plastic housing and metal face plate. All models has some forms of the Vewlix arcade layout, with the "Kai" models featuring the modified layout with the joystick move further away from the face buttons. Some models have the auxiliary buttons located on the right side of the chassis, while some have the turbo function. All models comes with a storage box on the back of the chassis that can be open to store the cable inside.

Models with the "SA" moniker comes with the Sanwa-made joystick and buttons, while models with the "SE" moniker comes with the Seimitsu-made joystick and buttons. Models with the "Hayabusa" moniker comes with Hori's own Hayabusa joystick with the unique V-shaped cam housing, while also comes with either Hori's own Kuro buttons or the Hayabusa buttons. Silent models usually comes with the silent versions of Hori-made joystick and buttons that reduced noises.

There had been many models released within the lineup from 2009 to 2021, starting with the PlayStation-3-compatible Real Arcade Pro V3-SA, followed by the Xbox-360-compatible Real Arcade Pro VX-SA on April 22, 2010. The first models with the modified "Kai" Vewlix layout, the Real Arcade Pro V3-SA Kai and the Real Arcade Pro VX-SE Kai, were released on June 28, 2012 and June 26, 2012 respectively. The Real Arcade Pro V3 Hayabusa, released on January 30, 2014, is the first model that come with Hori's Hayabusa joystick and the Kuro buttons. Model with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One compatibility won't come until the releases of the Real Arcade Pro V4 Hayabusa and the Real Arcade Pro V Hayabusa for Xbox One on May 1, 2014 and September 30, 2014 respectively, with the Xbox model being the first model to have the newer chassis that relocate the auxiliary buttons to the right side of it. The Real Arcade Pro V4 Hayabusa Silent is the first model with the silent version of Hori's joystick and buttons. The Real Arcade Pro V (2015) for PlayStation 4, released on December 4, 2015, is the first non-Xbox-compatible-model to have native XInput support on PC, and also the first model to have the Hayabusa buttons. In addition to the regular models, game collaboration models were also released.

Compatibility on PC vary depending on the models, with earlier PlayStation models released prior to the Real Arcade Pro V (2015) acts as generic DirectInput devices, meaning they requires a third-party wrapper like Steam Input for games that only use the XInput API. Models starting with Real Arcade Pro V (2015), as well as all Xbox-compatible models and Switch-compatible models are native XInput devices, and for non-Xbox-compatible models, this is usually done using the mode slider on the sub panel. Note that console-specific features like touchpad on the PlayStation-4-compatible models are not supported while in PC mode.
