The HORI Fighting Stick V are a series of arcade game controller released by Hori since October 29, 2009.

The Fighting Stick V have a redesigned outer casing, and has Hori-made joystick and buttons. As its name suggest, it has the Vewlix arcade layout. It also has turbo function, with individual speed adjustment on the 6 face buttons.

The Fighting Stick V is available in two models: The PlayStation-3-compatible Fighting Stick V3 and the Xbox-360-compatible Fighting Stick VX. The Fighting Stick V3 was released on October 29, 2009, while the Fighting Stick VX was released on July 1, 2010.

While both models can connect to the PC via a USB Type-A connector, only the Fighting Stick VX is a native XInput device, while the Fighting Stick V3 is a generic DirectInput device. The Fighting Stick VX also has a 3.5mm audio jack for audio passthrough.

The Fighting Stick V3 is a PlayStation-3-compatible model. It has a slider switch to allow the joystick to emulate as either a D-pads, left stick or right stick.
The Fighting Stick VX is a Xbox-360-compatible model. It has a 3.5mm audio jack.

Use with PC platforms

Only the Fighting Stick VX is a XInput device.

Windows

The Fighting Stick V3 act as a generic DirectInput device.
The Fighting Stick VX should be automatically detected on Windows Vista and later. If it is not detected or encountering compatibility issues on Windows XP, install the Xbox 360 Accessories Software for it.

XInput wrapping

The Fighting Stick V3 acts as native DirectInput controller, so it's possible to use any of the generic wrappers. See the controller article for those.

Gamepad Phoenix

Also has support for XInput and DirectInput controllers.

No emulation of Windows Raw Input API.

Steam

For the Fighting Stick VX, Steam will recognize it as a Xbox 360 Controller.
For the Fighting Stick V3, Steam may recognize the it as a generic DirectInput device, thus requiring manual button mappings via Steam Input.

Support in games

The Fighting Stick VX is a native XInput device, and is supported in games that use the XInput API.
Games with generic DirectInput support are supported by the Fighting Stick V3, however button placements may be out of place and need to be rebound. Refer to game-specific articles for rebinding support.
