Key points

Designed for Mobile MOBA and FPS Games.
Responsive Trackpad and Programmable Buttons: Accurately aim with your finger and unleash combos with the programmable buttons.
Built-in BattleDock: Plug in mouse and keyboard (only supports 2.4G wireless keyboard and mouse combo).
Built-in Bracket with two adjustable angles (110 degrees & 150 degrees). Holds most 3.5 - 6-inch smartphones.
Buttons L1, R1, L2, R2, L3, R3, L4, R4 have clickable switches used in mouse buttons or Azeron controllers.
The GameSir G5 has up to 33 function buttons that will help you dominate the game.
No analogue triggers.
Unlike Steam Controller, trackpad is not clickable.
The ᴘᴏᴡᴇʀ button can light in yellow, pink, white and blue colors, but there is no software which is letting to control RGB effects.

Use with PC platforms[edit]

Connecting the controller should automatically download and install latest drivers for the controller.
It's possible to connect gamepad to smartphone without GameSir application installed. It requires turning on gamepad with ᴘᴏᴡᴇʀ+4 buttons pressed. Then user can set one of three available modes (double press ᴍᴏᴅᴇ or ᴘᴏᴡᴇʀ+ᴍᴏᴅᴇ combo). Mode 1 and Mode 2 are available through USB and bluetooth connection, Mode 3 is available only through USB connection. For more information see Oddbrother's tutorial.
Mouse mode activated by pressing ᴍᴏᴜsᴇ button is not working properly without GameSir application and every new touch teleports cursor in different place.

Mode 1 (indicator: ▰▱▱▱ for Bluetooth or ▱▱▰▱ for USB connection)

Supports all 28 working buttons.
Trackpad works as RS. ᴍᴏᴜsᴇ button is activating Mouse mode where trackpad controls mouse cursor.
Trackpad can be activated only by pressing one of four face buttons: A, B, X, Y.

Mode 2 (indicator: ▰▱▰▱ for Bluetooth or ▱▰▰▱ for USB connection)

Automatically remapping L4 as 𝐀, R4 as 𝐁, L5 as 𝐗, R5 as 𝗬.
Do not require to press one of four face buttons to activate trackpad.
Trackpad works as RS. ᴍᴏᴜsᴇ button is activating Mouse mode where trackpad controls mouse cursor.
Mode is disabling touchpad buttons A, B, X, Y.
Mode is not allowing to press two additional buttons at once. These buttons are affected: L4, R4, L5, R5.

Mode 3 (indicator: ▱▱▰▰ for USB connection)

Treats controller as Xbox 360 Controller. Works only via USB connection.
Trackpad works as RS. ᴍᴏᴜsᴇ button is activating Mouse mode where trackpad controls mouse cursor.
Majority of buttons is disabled. Disabled buttons: A, B, X, Y, A+, X+, Y+, B+, 1, 2, 3, 4, sᴛᴀʀᴛ, sᴇʟᴇᴄᴛ, ᴛᴜʀʙᴏ, ᴍᴏᴜsᴇ, L3, R3, L4, R4.

Windows[edit]

Connecting the controller should automatically download and install latest drivers for the controller.
Applications Steam Link and Moonlight allows to map touch buttons to physical buttons. Controller does not have analog triggers or pressure sensitive buttons, so this method is able to emulate every physical button properly.
Parsec application allows to play only in controller's Mode 1, Mode 2 or Mode 3.

macOS[edit]

Application Steam Link allows to map touch buttons to physical buttons.
Parsec application allows to play only in controller's Mode 1, Mode 2 or Mode 3.
Requires smartphone to be able to pair controller with PC via WiFi connection.

Linux[edit]

Applications Steam Link and Moonlight (host needs Sunshine application installed) allows to map touch buttons to physical buttons.
Requires smartphone to be able to pair controller with PC via WiFi connection.

Steam[edit]

Can be recognized as Xbox 360 controller but after manual assignment. Controller cannot be found in Supported Controller Database, so Steam recognizes it as standard DirectInput device.
Requires PC streaming application support eg. Steam Link.

Total number of games: 2,272.
The controller's button positions and colors, and the amount of buttons, differ considerably from those of other Xbox controllers. As such, the list below should be treated with some caution.

Issues fixed[edit]

How can I upgrade the firmware of GameSir G5[edit]

After you download the GameSir application, please turn on Bluetooth of your phone, power on the G5 controller, open the GameSir App, search the controller and update the firmware.

Not possible to turn on/off[edit]

Turn on: Long press ʜᴏᴍᴇ button for 2 seconds to turn on the gamepad.
Turn off: Long press ʜᴏᴍᴇ button for 2 seconds to turn off the gamepad.

How works low battery indicator and why gamepad is turning off automatically[edit]

When usable power is lower than 10%, ʜᴏᴍᴇ button turns red and flashes slowly.
When usable power is lower than 5%, the gamepad will turn off automatically
ʜᴏᴍᴇ button flashes slowly in green when charging. ʜᴏᴍᴇ button keeps in solid green when fully charged.
When the gamepad is on, it will turn off automatically when there is no connection for 2 minutes.
When the gamepad is connected, it will turn off automatically when there is no operation for 5 minutes.

Not possible to check the power[edit]

Quick press ᴘᴏᴡᴇʀ button to see indicator lights showing remain power. They recover to the original status after showing power for 3 seconds continuously. Indicator lights instruction:
  • ▰▰▰▰ - 75%-100% power
  • ▰▰▰▱ - 50%-75% power
  • ▰▰▱▱ - 25%-50% power
  • ▰▱▱▱ - 1%-25% power

Firmware upgrade progress stuck at 0 percent[edit]

Please try to upgrade the firmware manually, but also reset the GameSir G5 before upgrading.

How to connect wireless keyboard and mouse[edit]

The USB port of G5 left handle is used for wireless keyboard and mouse combo. Your wireless keyboard and mouse combo has its own USB dongle. You need to use the wireless keyboard and mouse combo which share the same USB dongle.

How to adjust the sensitivity of the trackpad of G5?[edit]

Required smartphone application.
Changing trackpad sensitivity via GameSir App[1]

About the sensitivity of track-pad, in addition to change the games' sensitivity to maximum, you can also change the sensitivity of track-pad in G-crux app.

  1. Open GameSir app and click "My key".
  2. Connect the G5 controller.
  3. Change the "Mouse sensitivity" and click "Use now”.

App Installed Failed[edit]

  1. If your phone blocks the installation: Setting > Security > Lockscreen and security > Enable unknown sources
  2. Please enter the Google Play and close the Play Protect.
  3. Please find out and delete the 64bit Plug In.

Mapping Activation Failed[edit]

Mapping Activation Failed error[2]
  1. Please download the 4.0.2 version of GameSir World and try again.
  2. Google Play version GameSir World doesn't support mapping function.

Controller firmware cannot be updated without connecting it to a smartphone and using GameSir application.
