Chess (Apple) is a singleplayer and multiplayer first-person chess game.

The game is based on GNOME Chess 0.4.6,[1] while the CPU opponent is based on the Sjeng chess computer program, namely Sjeng Free 11.2. Chess has been bundled with all known macOS versions since OS X 10.0.
