- Fully compatible with the Steam, GOG and Microsoft Store/Gamepass releases.
Yakuza 6 Restoration Patch

- A simple mod that replaces textures for characters during gameplay with textures from cutscenes.
- Replaces the font in the game with the same official higher resolution text font for better 4K experience.
Korean Localization
- Fan-made 100% complete Korean localization mod.
Notes
- Created for Steam version Patch 3 (dated 2021-05-06), but can be made to work with later Steam versions.
- May also work with the GOG version (tested only briefly).
- Replaces the existing Traditional Chinese localization in the game files.
- Explicitly compatible with the music restoration patch.
Known issues
- Minor typos and inconsistencies compared to official Korean localizations of previous games in the series.
- First mod variant crashes when adjusting game settings (graphics, audio, etc.) at title menu.
- No crash occurs when adjusting settings while in game.
- Second mod variant is unaffected.
- Crash during the final cutscene of some hostess missions.
- Temporarily set language to English as a workaround.
- Most Clan Creator codes are not recognized.
- Temporarily set language to English as a workaround.
- Clan leaders may need to be reassigned afterwards.
Installation and usage[8]
|
- Download the mod from one of the links in the release announcement.
- There are two mod variants meant to differ only cosmetically in the logo shown on the game startup screen.
- The second variant (
두번째 버전 [YAKUZA6] ) is nevertheless recommended due to a UI crash bug in the first variant.
- Unpack the files. Afterwards, depending on the mod variant, run
Ryu6 - KorPatch Ver 1.00 [타이틀 변경].exe or Ryu6 - KorPatch Ver 1.00.exe .
- Despite appearances, this is not an installer but a nonstandard self-extracting archive containing the actual mod files.
- Follow the prompts to select an output folder (i.e. a temporary location) and "install" (unpack) the actual mod files.
- From the output folder, copy only
data to <path-to-game>\data . Overwrite when prompted.
- Do not copy other files. They appear to be from an outdated Steam version and will only cause problems.
- Optionally, make a separate compressed copy of
data from the mod files first to facilitate future reinstalls.
- To activate the mod, set the game language to Traditional Chinese.
- Steam and GOG Galaxy users can do this via the per-game settings in either launcher.
- For the GOG version, if GOG Galaxy is unavailable,
<path-to-game>\goggame-1086074447.info may be manually edited:
- Change
"English" in line 5 to "Chinese (Traditional)" exactly, including " s.
- Change
"en-US" in line 7 to "zh-Hant" exactly, including " s.
- As an aside,
"Japanese" /"ja-JP" is the combination that sets the game language to Japanese.
- Linux users can also follow these steps by running the self-extracting archive using Wine. Note that the Korean-language prompts may not render properly, and unpacking the mod files may fail if the output path (or the path to the self-extracting .exe itself) contains Korean characters.
