Key points

No cross-platform play with console or mobile players - World of Tanks Console and World of Tanks Blitz are completely separate games.

Has two clients for download, SD and HD, the difference is that the SD client take up less disk space and doesn't offer maximum resolution textures.^[1]

Widescreen resolution

Resolution settings can be customized further than what is available in-game.^[2]

Set resolution in preferences.xml^[2]
Go to `%APPDATA%\wargaming.net\WorldOfTanks` Edit `preferences.xml` Change `widescreenWidth` and `widescreenHeight` to match your resolution. Change the `aspectRatio` value to match your aspect ratio: 4:3 resolutions: 1.333000 5:4 resolutions: 1.250000 16:10 resolutions: 1.600000 16:9 resolutions: 1.778000 48:9 resolutions: 5.333333 48:10 resolutions: 4.800000 Save your changes.

Windowed

High frame rate

Frame rate caps can be adjusted by editing variables in the engine_config.xml, which needs to be unpacked before it can be edited^{[citation needed]}

Go to <path-to-game>\res
Make a backup of engine_config.xml
Download WOT Binary XML Editor, extract, install and run it.
In WoT Binary XML Viewer/Editor, open <path-to-game>\res\engine_config.xml (as "All Files (*.*)").
Change the maxFrameRate (gameplay FPS cap) and reducedFrameRate (garage FPS cap) values as desired.
Save your changes.
