Issues unresolved

Crashes to desktop at game launch

Multiple users have reported crashes to desktop. The game has received updates attempting to fix the issue.[12][13][14][15][16]
Potentially working solutions are available for Nvidia users.
Force the game to use the dedicated GPU[17]
  1. Open the NVIDIA Control Panel by right-clicking an area on the desktop or by other means.
  2. Click on Manage 3D settings on the sidebar.
  3. Click on the Program Settings tab.
  4. Click on Add, select WWZ, or click on Browse and select <path-to-game>\en_us\client\bin\pc\wwzRetailEgs.exe
  5. Under Select the preferred graphics processor for this program, choose High-performance NVIDIA processor.
  6. Apply the changes.
Remove AMD components[18]
  1. Download the AMD Cleanup Utility.
  2. Run the .exe file and follow the instructions.
Downgrade the Nvidia display drivers to 391.35[19][20]
  1. Download the correct 391.35 drivers for the running operating system.
  2. Run the .exe file and follow the instructions.

Visual stuttering

Switch from Vulkan to DirectX 11[21]
  1. Go to Settings -> Video.
  2. Set Graphics API to DirectX11.

Stretched menu at wide resolutions

The main menu background including character models may stretch at 21:9 and wider resolutions.[22]
Disable FidelityFX sharpening[22]
  1. From the main menu, go to Settings -> Video.
  2. Set FidelityFX CAS to OFF.
