Essential improvements

Patches

  • Patch 1.51 is the latest official patch for the retail version of the game, and requires patches 1.41 and 1.50 to be installed first.
  • The Winter Assault disc automatically applies patch 1.41 upon installation. If you wish to install this expansion, do so before applying any subsequent patch.
  • The Steam version is on its own separate release equivalent to 1.51 in terms of balance and gameplay - the only difference being Steamworks multiplayer used instead of GameSpy and LAN options.

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 When running this game without elevated privileges (Run as administrator option), write operations against a location below %PROGRAMFILES%, %PROGRAMDATA%, or %WINDIR% might be redirected to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore on Windows Vista and later (more details).
  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths).
