My saves were not under this location. I suppose you played the version from GOG or even retail ? Please add to your Edit what version this applies to.

It located on the GOG version. If the retail release don't have the exact location, I'll add to the edit.
Actually the save location is right. It apply to Window Vista and up. However the XP save location is different.
This is what I can find for XP, but unconfirmed.
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data
Thank you for the elaboration. I am still not happy with the change, since a backuping reader will wonder, why he has not that folder.
Since a game on Steam often stores things in the folders named under Windows and not just the one named under Steam, those exceptions such as BoT are rather unexpected.
I took a look into my backup and I indeed have not that folder. Added a comment.
