It contains D3D12 shader cache for both games, not only in game screenshot DB. It is an important location as nuking cache can sometimes solves issues, especially in those 2 games which are the first implementation of the API, and it is not greatly done.
User talk:Blackbird
I noticed that, but that doesn't count as "Configuration File" either. You can mention it under it in key points if you want to.
Blackbird, why did you delete this on World Racing 2? That was a issue!
I explained it in my revert. It's already covered by the StarForce warnings, availability row mentioning DRM is removed in the patch and the patch itself is in Essential improvements. There's no need for another fixbox, when this is generic issue, not specific to the game.
Hey Blackbird, I was just wondering why the title was reverted from Foundation back to Crystal Engine in the article and weither or not it would make sense to put Crystal and Foundation to separate articles instead. Because it seems that the Name "Crystal Engine" is no longer in use.
Gotta be honest. I have no clue. Looking at the history I may have accidentally pressed undo twice or something.
Hi, I've noticied that edit on Y5R and I was wondering why it was discontinued i didn't find anything about that around
You wouldn't, because I am in contact with Silent on Discord, but current version of SP for Y5 only "fixes" that keyboard hook thing. Rest of the fixes like ASCII crash are already fixed by official patches and as such the patch is only kept for posterity.
hello. why did you revert my edit? mouse acceleration .dll file actually breaks directX for the in-game pause overlay that is used often, every time a power is dragged from the center of the screen to the quickmenu in the upper left corner, game literaly crashes.
the trade-off is not worth it, since mouse acceleration is minuscule, anyway. a key point should not be a solution to a minuscule problem that introduces a more serious one, such as crashing a game mid-battle.
I never experienced such crash and default mouse aim is really bad.
i did on multiple playthroughs, on multiple copies, over almost a decade of replays, on multiple PCs. it's broken, as most .dll messing is (hitman 2 silent assassin, among others comes to mind), thirteenAG FOV fix also doesn't work and should be removed. default mouse aim is perfect, if you use 500Hz, as is mentioned elsewhere, and lower the sensitivity in game.
FOV fix works fine for me. What version of the game are you using? Also no the original mouse aim is simply bad, this is not up for debate.
haha not up for debate. who the fuck are you? mouse aim is not up for debate. fov fix IS up for a debate when it does nothing. and so is everything else that i mentioned, why would i lie?
Who do you think YOU are, claiming to be an expert on Mass Effect when, from what you yourself have revealed, it's ALL your own experience?
Tone it down. The "Works on My Computer" badge of approval holds no power here.
never claimed such a thing, so TONE it down. also, it's Blackbird who said "works fine for ME", you should learn to read and think before posting toxic comments. also, never said "works on my computer", but does NOT work on my multiple systems on multiple computers on multiple copies in actually, i stand corrected, OVER a decade. learn to read.
what version of the game are you using?
Hey Blackbird, would it be better if I just outlined the steps on how to go about fixing the game? It will still rely on the user to find a cracked exe, but no downloads would be needed.
Mentioning it is fine, but actually uploading it is big no-no. Also we already have a link for the patch and there's page for dgVoodoo 2 too so no need to upload it again.
Gotcha, sorry about that! Just reread the Editing Guide too, I'll redo my submission with that in mind.
Hello Blackbird, I modified it according to the contents of the SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS in the Steam store of Heavy Rain. Is there any problem?
Hello, we do not put the values as is. We format them to consistent naming as you can see here in Editing guide
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/PCGamingWiki:Editing_guide/System_requirements
thanks you Blackbird,I did not read this guide, sorry
Hey there. Mind explaining what happened with my edit? Did the tweak not fix most of the issues? Did you remember to set Frame Limiter to ON?
From my end it works absolutely fine at 60FPS: No cinematics bug, no car handling bugs, no ghost town bugs, maybe pedestrians may talk too fast but that might be due to my own mods.
Also, the limit adjuster links are still there and some leftovers too.
Limit Adjuster doesn't fix anything at all. It just caps the FPS. If you want actual fixes you need to use this mod
https://gtaforums.com/topic/927971-framerate-vigilante-finding-and-fixing-framerate-related-issues/
But it DOES fix major issues like those I just said. Why wouldn't you add that mod to my edit instead of downright deleting it? Shouldn't that mod fix whatever FPS issues were left to begin with?
I'll try the mod tomorrow and see if it works. Then I will add it to along with my old edit if the page remains the same as now. For the life of me I would never go back to 30fps.
Also, I think we are mixing up San Andreas with Vice City.
No, it objectively doesn't. Ask anyone on GTAForums and they'll confirm what I said.
Because it doesn't fix everything so in its current state 60 FPS is still worse option.
The mod doesn't work and the page is still messy. I opened up a new topic at the forums, so far one user says it isn't too bad even without the frame limiter.
As far as I know (and tested), the only issues with playing at locked 60 are weightless cars that you can push with your body, fast pedestrian speech, hard-to-turn-off sirens and fast takeoff helicopters. These problems mostly concern speedrunners of all people, they always try to get as close as possible to vanilla due to very strict rules.
In any case I would add those few glitches as negatives if you wanted 60fps. I can give you video evidence of the fix working as intended (it objectively does) if you are too lazy to check:
streamable. com/u2p4x (remove the space)
The car should never fuse with Tommy after the intro if the limit is properly set.
I played and finished all the games at 60 FPS. Limit Adjuster doesn't fix anything. Just because lower FPS has less glitches than higher FPS doesn't change the fact these bugs still exist.
So you kind of admit that the game is fully playable at 60fps then? Limit Adjuster is just one of the methods to cap the frame rate if the in-game limit isn't set to OFF. You can easily do it with RivaTuner Statistics Server, for example, but since it's a third party application it's better to use the mod.
That's exactly what I've been saying all this time. Some bugs are still present but they are negligible for the most part at least in the case of Vice City. I won't leave the page incomplete for another day, if you don't mind.
It is "playable", but not advisable.
Why exactly? What specific bugs did you encounter that ruined the experience? Please tell me.
Pretty much everything to do with cars. Their handling, annoying low window to turn on siren. Cutscenes "end" faster than expected. As long lot of these bugs exist then it will never be in Essential section in any way.
That said all hope is not lost as the Framerate Vigilante mod might fix all of those one day :)
I see, car handling is somewhat slower at 60fps now that I notice at the intro (admiral should be right behind the faggio, not to the side). Maybe I can re-arrange the method to not be in the Essential section and be optional instead. Wiki page still has some leftovers anyway from both our last editions.
I wouldn't mind if you put it under the timing issues section or Other information, but please do NOTE with
- that these bugs exist.
EDIT: Oh you already did lol. I checked talk page first...
Yeah, forgot to update here. Apologies if I sounded a little arrogant up there. I changed my mind once I saw car handling wasn't 100% accurate at 60fps.
All is fine :)
It is already known that the Dawn Engine by Eidos Montreal is an heavily modified version of the Glacier 2 engine
The Foundation Engine by Crystal Dynamics is still supported by their respective owners and was even used by Eidos Montreal, even after the release of the Dawn Engine, which became Shadow of the Tomb Raider using a modified version of the Foundation Engine.
If Dawn Engine is really related to the Foundation Engine in any way then I strongly believe that they would have used the Dawn Engine instead.
www.tweaktown.com/news/51240/deus-ex-mankind-divided-engine-heavily-modified-glacier-2/index.html
I see. Edited the articles to reflect that
Hi, can you please stop this anon from trashing CODBO3's page? https://pcgamingwiki.com/w/index.php?title=Call_of_Duty:_Black_Ops_III&action=history Thank you!
Also this anon, please: https://pcgamingwiki.com/w/index.php?title=Assassin%27s_Creed_III_Remastered&action=history I provided proofs that 21:9 is supported (that thread i linked also contains screenshots of both in-game action and the settings menu) but that guy keeps reverting my edit. PCGW shouldn't be about "if it doesn't work for me then that feature does not exist". Thank you.
Hi! What do you think about this ( https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Topic:Uo8urgu2xzu6lnxl )? Should a new page be created for the new Steam release? Thank you.
That really depends on the changes and how much relevant the old version is.
Could you do me a favor and delete this image?. I forgot to remove my Steam user name. Kind regards Diskersen (talk) 15:22, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
Sure. Next time edit the page and add {{delete|reason=Text}} and it'll be taken care of :)
I tried to do that for the redirect If My Heart Had Wing, but it didn’t show up on the candidates for deletion page.
You are right, strange. Might be some cache bug.
Sir, I had nothing to do with the User:YouTube.com user.
It's a bug. Carry on.
Hey! I noticed your recent edit at the Back to the Future: The Game and that you removed the episodes for it from the DLC tab. However, it is currently the same for other games, including Sam & Max Save the World (which originally had it that way), Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space, Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, Tales of Monkey Island, Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures, Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse and Hector: Badge of Carnage!. All the episodes for these games appear as multiple game entries in Steam, but there's a single article for each of them on PCGW. Other Telltale games do not use this mechanic, and each episode is a part of the game. I tried to keep the same format for all [[Company:Telltale Games ]] titles, so whatever you decide, can you please keep the partity for all these titles? Thanks!
Sure. I don't know who added it, but these episodes aren't treated as DLCs at all (SteamDB shows so too).
I only own the games on Steam, so I'm not sure how GOG or retail versions treat them, but yeah all these titles consisted of each episode as a different game. I guess the original author wanted to indicate that in the first Sam & Max game – I might have removed it from the first game instead since eventually it turned out it was the only one structured as such, but since it was the one I started with I added the info to others.
Hi man, i'm experiencing an issue on this site lately. When i upload a new version of game cover, the new version of the picture does not show up in the game's page. And yes, i have tried the usual CTRL+F5 trick already. Thank you.
It's a known issue. https://trello.com/c/05jsGuuT/47-cached-thumbnails-are-not-regenerated-for-updated-images Unfortunately not easy to fix from what I've heard :/
Oh, i see. Thank you.
According to Template:Availability WinStore should be at the bottom in all cases. Is there a specific reason you have put Steam at the bottom for Voodoo Vince Remastered and Bridge Constructor?
Because Garrett renamed the Windows Store name to Microsoft Store which causes them to be improperly sorted. Garrbot already corrected few cases, but not all.
Hi man, could you please stop this "Solarstrike" guy from reverting my edits? I even opened a discussion just to explain why he is wrong but he keeps deleting that key point.
Discussion with the explanation: https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Talk:Toy_Story_3:_The_Video_Game#PC_version_is_a_Wii_port_6035
You can see his activity here: https://pcgamingwiki.com/w/index.php?title=Toy_Story_3:_The_Video_Game&action=history
Thank you.
Add reference to the key point if you can. I'll look into it later.
I put all the necessary infos in the discussion i opened.
You could have warned me about my error in a more kind and appropriate way (like, for example, by opening a thread on my profile). Besides, "second warning"? Never got a notification or a "warning" about that.
Hi, Blackbird.
I noticed that you undid my "Adds historical missions..." note to the Notes field of the expansion. That's fine, if that's not what the Notes field is for, but I'd like to understand what the field is for, so that I either don't add to it again or add the right thing. I guess that it's not for describing what's included in the expansion/DLC. Is it supposed to be only for notes that pertain to availability (like "included with GOG release, but not with Steam," for example)?
Thanks.
I removed it because you added it into a wrong field (field meant for game keys). If you check the old revision you'll see the problem. If you want to add it to DLC notes, feel free to do so (although this kind of thing is better suited for wikipedia). I was just lazy.
Oh, I didn't even notice that I added it to the wrong field. Usually, I'm quite diligent and check everything in preview before I save the page. I guess that it's because I was adding half a dozen things to the page at once and the expansion/DLC section was collapsed, so I overlooked it on my final check. Thanks for the correction and the explanation.
Thank you for editing the page! It was my first page creation for the wiki, so I expected it to need rough patching from a more experienced user. Are there any suggestions I can get from you for future edits and page creations? I've done my best to follow the Sample Article and Editing Guide.
Welcome to PCGW! For the first page it was rather decent. I'd suggest
- Don't remove any part of the default templates even if it makes no sense. Imagine if the game gets released on GOG/Steam etc. later. It'll be annoying for editors to re-add the GOG/Steam stuff.
- Don't put too many key points. Only focus on important technical stuff. The ones left are fine-ish imo.
- Game cover name should always be Game name cover.jpg/png. : is not allowed in filenames so you need to omit it.
- If you want to do this easily just put the image name first, hit the Show Preview button, middle-click on the red link and upload it there. Then save the edit.
- Network play modes only accept Versus (Player vs Player) and Co-op (Player+Player against AI) since that way PCGW can scrape the info into a list. If you need to specify actual modes then use the notes line below.
- Don't fill in false in the API table for stuff that the game just can't have due to its age. If you're not sure just hit the Show Preview button and if the X doesn't appear it means only true value is needed.
- For System requirements section you need to check the Editing Guide's part of it since PCGW tries to keep it consistent and cuts lot of fluff that isn't needed.
Glad to be of service and happy editing :)
This is all incredibly helpful! It was hard to traverse the thick editing guide, so your guidance simplifies that prospect. For clarification...
- I see entries left blank don't show up. I didn't know the API was selective enough on sections to omit when they're left blank, it was my attempt to keep the visuals of the guide clean. I'll note this for the future.
- Great advice. I'll keep things simpler in the future.
* I immediately regretted the file name when I was introduced to the page showcasing uploaded files after uploading my file, it will be noted for the future. (How on earth did you manage to tab the bullet point in your reply? I wanted to copy the format for your answers so that it would be easy to see which question I was answering. I've been struggling with it, because pressing tab on my keyboard makes me select elements outside the typing window instead.)
- That's really helpful. I thought I would have to track down the upload menu in the editing guide every time. It was just now while typing this that I realized there was a link to the page in the sidebar.
- So that's what those weird marks () were representing, missing information! No wonder it was impossible to remove! That leads to a question though, what do I do if the multiplayer supports various modes? For example, a game has a horde mode and a versus mode in online play. Do I choose Versus or Co-Op in this case?
- Noted, i'll keep an eye on it for the future.
- "Any requirements beyond "Recommended" are considered overkill at the time of launch. That being said, these requirements can be added to the section as an information ({{{ii}}}) footnote below the tables." While you didn't do this necessarily, i'll take it that I should just leave the section blank for games not mentioning recommended specifications.
Again, thanks for the help! My reply serves as a self reflection for memory and an acknowledgment of your detailed answer!
Enabling multithreading is essential to get higher frame rate on Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. Shuldn't "Enable multithreading" remain in "High frame rate" section?
I get what you mean, but no. You can't add custom fixboxes to default sections ie. anything not in the standard tables. In this case it could even be in Essential improvements if it's really really needed.
Good idea, will do, thanks.
The command line argument "-nonixxes" you provided to skip intro videos does not seem to work for me.
I didn't provide it. I only changed the formatting. This guy added it
Thank you for your help in editing the page.
No problem! Keep up the good work.

Blackbird,
While I appreciate your diligence in trying to enforce "proper" fix submissions, an editing war over 2 separate articles is not the way to do it.
It doesn't help that both you and Gordonfreeman1 are acting in an amateur and embarrassing manner.
Simply put: Stop this nonsense both of you. I will start handing out bans if this continues further.
And to clear things up (based on what I read): New fixes should generally have a reference associated with them. That being said, there is no requirement (at the moment) that they need to.
If a fix is added and there's no associated reference (or online source that mentions said fix), just add a Citation Needed tag ({{cn}}).
Fixes should only be removed if the issue got officially patched, the instructions provided are intentionally malicious, or the fix is specific to pirated/cracked copies of the game.
When I get the time, I'll try to write out something in the Editing guide that will make this detail clear.
Just some random reference isn't enough. If it's the game developer speaking of Windows API it's a thing. If it's some random dude that just magically "I have fixed by unplugging the joystick" no.
Nonsense should also counts for removal.
And not being able to reproduce the thing, should always be an alarm bell for "something is wrong here". Be it just more precision needed, or "this is total BS".
Examples here of what I mean.
And if I had to have kept every stupid idea for fixing GTA:SA over the years, that page would look like a battlefield.
Why would you say the recommended vram is 4GB? The R9 280X is a 3GB card, they don't exactly say how much vram they recommend.
There was 3 or 4 GB listed. I just picked the highest one. Change it if you want.
Regarding your recent Manhunt edits, if you need square brackets in link text you can use HTML entities: [ for [ and ] for ]. Entities are displayed as intended without being interpreted as wiki formatting. This fix is applied when I process a page with AutoWikiBrowser via Garrbot, so these instances are also resolved over time.
Cool. Thanks for the info!
Hey,
I just wanted to thank for all the effort you've put in on keeping the many images on the wiki consistent, are replacing them with better, higher quality versions. Keep up the good work!
No problem! Thanks for the acknowledgment. It really motivates me further :)
I noticed some of the changes to the Fallout 4 page, where you fixed some of my changes relating to reducing template entries that would not be used, I didn't know that was an issue and I am fine with the changes. The thing that I found odd was when you made an edit to the Fallout 4 Cover, reverting it to the pre release box art and said it was "Wrong". I checked the Editing Guide and it says that my cover is valid as it is a Steam banner on the storefront, I chose it as it was to the point, less obtrusive than a long DVD cover, and doesn't have rating pending on the cover.
Now you could argue that it is for consistencies sake as most of the Fallout and all of TES games have DVD covers as their infobox images, but it isn't wrong that I decided to use the storefront image.
All games that have retail covers use retail covers. Just look around pages. Only ones that don't are digital-only releases such as Gunpoint.
Also where did you get all the other info like Steam Cloud being available? Is the game in beta or was that revealed? Assuming features isn't allowed.
The game is based off the Creation Engine (An improved Skyrim Engine), it is pretty much guaranteed that Fallout 4 will have features like Windowed mode and 4K support. I have left all of the Hackable and False entries that were in Skyrim, as Unknown simply because they may have improved on some of those features for Fallout 4.
Steam Cloud specifically was because every TES and Fallout (except for F3) on Steam had Steam Cloud support so it isn't baseless to assume that that functionality would be returning to a Steamworks title.
As for the cover issue you are right, though I have seen cases such as MGS TPP where there is a DVD cover available but they have opted to use a poster instead.
I see. Personally I don't care about that, but just saying that someone might revert it. And uhhh I added the cover (or its higher res version?). Just never updated it with the new one since finding good high res version is waste of time and the new cover is uglier anyway.
I appreciate that you found a much higher quality image for the Lego Chess cover, but what's with this "Chess at its prime" text at the bottom? It was never with the original box art to begin with.
Would it be possible to remove that text (or at least find a version that does not include it)? I would have to revert back to the previous cover otherwise as it is considered non-standard.
Done. Not that it changes much.
It's most likely a grey, not a pure black, I'll upload it myself.

Unreal Engine games allow the user to open the console by pushing @, I used that just in case someone might not know what the tilde key is. Because Yurop git scrub key like dis \
I don't have that key on my keyboard at all. Must be some English keyboard thing.
It does differend greatly from what keyboard you are using. With scandinavian keyboards, source- and cryengine games it's actually § and with unreal it's ö, even though every tuto tells to use ~ which is actually behind alt gr. Isn't @ on 2 behind alt gr on US layout as well?
Maybe just use US layout on pages and make list of keys with differend layouts?
I have an Italian keyboard if that's of any help. http://i.stack.imgur.com/9hOGH.png
It seems to be in same place where Ö is in scandinavian one: http://i.imgur.com/aQ6m3dP.jpg
For the API table, you can determine the Glide version used by looking for specific .dlls in the game files.
See the Editing Guide (field breakdown subsection) for details.
Yeah they are in detail tab in properties right? I don't own this game so I'm only going from patch notes.
Just leave the field "Unknown" in that case. And please read the field breakdown section. It will explain all the details of how to determine the version used.
