One of my most proudest achievements was restoring an old DirectShow filter/codec component after it was removed in Windows Vista. The Windows Media Source Filter was used by at least at time of writing this, three games. Monopoly Tycoon, Test Drive 6 and Ford Racing 2 are all affected. Another component that was removed was the msadds.acm and the msaud32.acm in Windows Vista. They are required for true .wma playback for applications that never used ASF codecs (WM ASF Reader is now default after Windows 2000 I think).
