Using Battlelog
Battlefield 3 is one of three officially supported Battlefield games to make use of the browser-based Battlelog system. This allows players to join matches from the browser without launching the game. Battlelog does not require a further extension install on Chrome. This game and Hardline are the only installments in the series to require launching through Battlelog. Battlelog has cross-system compatibility with consoles.
Optimizing your experience
By putting the Battlelog screen into your second monitor, if you have one, you can move the Battlelog monitor to it so you can enjoy real-time data about the match while in the game. The following steps are taken from the Battlefield 4 page.
- If you are using a multi-monitor resolution in-game the secondary monitor can't be part of the spanned resolution.

Fixing launch issues
Battlefield 3 Steam launch issues can be hard to debug; while Hardline can be fixed by manually triggering first-time setup again, Battlefield 3 can be hard to fix.
