Ultima V: Warriors of Destiny is a singleplayer RPG game in the Ultima series.

The DOS version has improved graphics and performance over the Apple II and C64 versions.

Soundtrack is missing from the PC version. The U5 Upgrade adds the original soundtrack in MIDI format, supporting various sound cards and General MIDI. It also adds a theme from the Amiga version, when importing or creating a character.

Essential improvements

Import characters

Characters can be transferred from Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar using a (virtual) floppy drive.
Copy PARTY.SAV[citation needed]
  1. Copy PARTY.SAV from the Ultima IV installation folder.
  2. Paste it into the Ultima V installation folder.
  3. Run the game, choose transfer (or press T) and follow the prompts.

U5 Upgrade

The U5 Upgrade adds MIDI music. Install with Ultima Patcher or manually following the readme.

Ultimapper 5

Ultimapper 5 is a Windows tool for the game Ultima V. It shows a HUD above the game window and a map of the current location in another window. This tool is meant to be used with the GOG version of the game, but should work with other versions as well.

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within the installation folder reflects the path(s) listed for DOS game data. For the GOG.com release, file changes in DOSBox are redirected to <path-to-game>/cloud_saves/ even if GOG Galaxy is not used (this folder contains all redirected files, so some files in the cloud_saves folder might be temporary files or other files that do not contain saves or settings).
