Key points

This page covers the 2015 GOG/Steam release, also branded simply as Turok. The original 1997 PC-CD release has numerous bugs and is in many ways inferior to this updated version.
Improved port combining features of the original N64 and PC-CD releases, with additional features added such as native widescreen support, increased draw distance, optional graphical enhancements, achievements and mod support.
Includes both Nintendo 64 and PC-CD soundtracks; toggleable.
Steam Workshop integration (GOG users can obtain some of the mods from this page.)

Anti-aliasing (AA)

Force HSAA for SSAA in OpenGL mode (Nvidia only)[4]
  1. Set the graphics API to OpenGL in-game, then close the game.
  2. Download and run Nvidia Profile Inspector.
  3. Create a new game profile, and name it something such as Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (2015).
  4. Add sobek.exe to the newly created profile.
  5. Set Antialiasing - Mode to Override any application setting.
  6. Set Antialiasing - Setting to 8xS or 8xSQ.
  7. Apply changes.

Notes

While antialiasing can also be set to 16xS or 32xS, no visual differences will occur due to only the supersampling portion of the HSAA functioning; the multisampling portion does not work for this game, and may result in increased GPU usage at no addition visual benefit.
Due to the Nvidia driver's automatic LOD adjustment when using Ordered Grid Supersampling, distant textures may incur minor shimmering, even when mipmapped anisotropic filtering is enabled. This is most noticeable when using the Unfiltered Textures mod.[4]

Run speed cannot be modified during gameplay, and default run speed is higher than on the N64, which may make platforming more difficult.[5]

By default, the game applies a low-pass filter over digital audio samples. This behavior can be disabled by setting snd_lowpassfilter to 0 in the configuration file or the console.
