Key points

Includes graphical options from both PlayStation 2/Wii and PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 versions.

[Note 1]

Lacks a V-Sync toggle or FPS limiter, which can make the player character unable to climb walls and cause physics and AI problems at excessively high frame rates.
Shadows are automatically disabled when using the in-game anti-aliasing. See forcing anti-aliasing.[Note 2]

Issues unresolved

Black lines in "A Gathering Force"

This level has jarring black lines all over the place in High Detail mode. This is due to one of the High Detail files for the level being broken. It isn't on PS3/360.

Mising projectile models in High Detail

The projectile models for weapons in High Detail mode from PS3/360 are missing in the PC release.

Mods

See the beginners setup guide for instructions on how to configure the game for mod support. This guide was written for extracting files from Lego games by TT Games, but it also works with other Nu2-engine titles.
Alternatively, watch this video guide which was made specifically for Transformers: The Game.
Setting up mods requires extracting the game's .DAT files, which noticeably increases file size, but they do not require putting back together and run fine in thier extracted state.

Notes

  1. "Transformers_Hi.DAT" Is the file that is required for the 360/ps3 option, if you can't use Hi-Res assets and don't have this file that is why. It can be deleted to save on disk space though be warned you may not be able to get it back.
  2. Forcing certain types of anti-aliasing with shadows on may cause many graphical issues, like transparent objects being visible through your character model and through walls.
  3. SafeDisc retail DRM does not work on Windows 10[1] or Windows 11 and is disabled by default on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 when the KB3086255 update is installed.[2]
