Possible lag fix with culling setting in "ini" file

In one of the Conviction ".ini" files is a "culling" setting in the "default" section that is set to 4000. In my "user" section it is set to zero. I have model complexity (or whatever its called) at maximum. So, unless its buggy, zero must be the maximum culling distance. I set it to 1000 and lagging seems noticeably better although I need to benchmark this.

That's interesting. People report back once you've tested it.

You mean precisely: "CullDistance=" in %PROGRAMDATA%\Ubisoft\Conviction\ConvictionUserPC.ini

In Ragnos config it was set to 2500 in both sections (default and user). Test out also this value, and which is better.

Yes. I got to the level in blown up Washington with burning cars on the street with the setting at 1000. Frame rate was suddenly down to 25 from an average of around 55. So I lowered culling to 100 and got back the average of 55. It does something ! However I was still getting some frame rate fluctuations but not as bad, but the real problem is slow downs in combat that actually got me killed on more than one occasion. That seems to have more to do with the AI which might not be threading properly. At least the culling setting makes everything a bit more bearable.
