Can someone test this ?

"Sure.

Open the file "C:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_4.22\Engine\Config\ConsoleVariables.ini" in any text editor.

Find the line "; r.XGEShaderCompile = 0" and remove the ";" in the beginning of the line to uncomment it.

Then just restart the editor."

Disabling it in Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Engine\Config\ConsoleVariables.ini has no effect on my end.

Yes. Grasping at straws really although my research showed that there have been problems with very long shader compile times with dx12.
