Removal of key point on NieR:Automata

Key point in question: "The High graphics preset defaults to 8x MSAA. Disable it and enable Ambient Occlusion (includes high quality SMAA) for much faster anti-aliasing.

Why did you remove this point? It is extremely relevant to the game.

  • It tanks performance regardless of build.
  • It is unnecessary (since High preset already enables SMAA as well).
  • It causes LOD popping issue (described further in the AA section).

There's really no reason at all not to mention it there, since it is relevant to basically anyone playing the game. I didn't include the LOD popping since it's explained further in the AA section of the page.

Because it's common sense that MSAA is slower than SMAA.

Yes, but the whole point of the key point is to make users aware that SMAA is hidden within the AO option, and that High preset enables both by default which causes LOD popping. And absolutely nowhere in the settings of the game does it mention that SMAA is included in the Ambient Occlusion setting. This is something that players will only know from others in the community or when reading the "fine print" in the PCGW article about the game and the Anti-Aliasing option.

The no. 1 performance tip for any player of NieR:Automata is to set the Anti-Aliasing option to None entirely, since it's not even needed and solves the LOD popping. How can something that critical not be "important" enough to warrant a mention in the key points?
