Topic on Talk:Troubleshooting guide/Display and visual problems

So.. Assuming we aren't talking of intrinsically bugged games, how to find out what is causing big quantitative (but not qualitative, like crashes) differences from our happy friends?

EDIT: now that I think.. Should troubleshooting even focus on quantitative issues?
Or should this be addressed in another page?

The biggest offender is usually DPC latency.
Which is something that can be quite easy or quite hard to resolve.

Some real tough examples and madness.

Another point: rendered ahead frames (only affects D3D games with non-flip queuing in the absence of fast sync)

Awfully, we can't even decide whether to mention it in a general page, or in a vendor specific one.

It's interesting to note how this can be very system dependent, given it depends on bugginess of some games that can be more or less exacerbated depending on the updates frequency.

AMD may or may not support blits as nvidia.
