===dgVoodoo 2===

{{Fixbox|description=Use dgVoodoo 2|ref=<ref name="refcheck Antrad"/>|fix=

# Download [http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2.html dgVoodoo 2] and extract the contents to the folder of your choice.

# Copy <code>.dll</code> files from <code>dgVoodoo2\MS\x86</code> folder to <code>{{p|game}}\offline\system</code> and <code>{{p|game}}\online\system</code> next to the game's executables.

'''Notes'''

{{--}} Sometimes a white flickering cross appears in center of the screen in the single player game. Alt-tabbing in and out of the game/regaining focus should fix the white cross issue.

===HD Textures from the PS3 version===

{{Fixbox|description=Instructions|ref=<ref name="refcheck Antrad">{{refcheck|user=Antrad|date=February 27, 2018}}</ref>|fix=

# Download the archive from [https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/741-splinter-cell-pandora-tomorrow-ps3-hd-textures/ here].

# Extract the archive and copy the <code>offline</code> folder to the game installation folder and overwrite the existing files.

'''Notes'''

{{ii}} Although in higher resolution, the HD textures often look bland (especially wood), so installing the pack is not necessarily an improvement. HUD textures are completely different from the original and original ads have been removed.

Moreover, some textures present transparency problems when applied directly in the pc version, an example would be the train lights that leak through the grids on the second mission at the beginning, in this case the grids do not let the light pass correctly and have a black texture where it should be invisible.

Warnings

SafeDisc retail DRM does not work on Windows Vista and later (see Availability for affected versions).

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow is a singleplayer and multiplayer third-person and first-person action and stealth game in the Splinter Cell series.

The PC version of the game is currently not listed on digital storefronts due to graphical issues, specifically those affecting shadow rendering, which render certain game sections unplayable. Additionally, the PC version does not include certain visual effects—such as depth of field and rain—that are present the Xbox version.

Widescreen resolution

Use ThirteenAG's Widescreen Fix[3]
  1. Download the ZIP file here.
  2. Extract the offline folder to <path-to-game>.
  3. If using a resolution which has a width larger than 2892 pixels, change PostProcessFixedScale to 2892.[4]

Notes

FOV is automatically adjusted according to the resolution.
Removes stretched HUD and moves HUD elements to the edge of the screen.
Improves the night vision goggles' render resolution.
When running the game, a prompt message may request to download dgVoodoo 2 for fixing some rendering issues.

Field of view (FOV)

Edit SplinterCell2User.ini[5]
  1. Go to the configuration files location.
  2. Open SplinterCell2User.ini.
  3. Find [Engine.PlayerController] section.
  4. Adjust the following values (91.3154482287 is advised for 16:9 displays and 85.2812718522 for 16:10 ones):
    DesiredFOV=75.0
    DefaultFOV=75.0
  5. Save the changes.

Notes

Use either this or ThirteenAG's Widescreen Fix, or the FOV will be too wide.
Custom FOV and Hor+ work only if applied before creating a new profile.

Windowed

Edit SplinterCell2.ini[citation needed]
  1. Go to the configuration files location.
  2. Open SplinterCell2.ini.
  3. Find StartupFullscreen=True and change it to StartupFullscreen=False.
  4. Save the changes.

Anti-aliasing (AA)

Modify driver profile[citation needed]
  1. Download and run Nvidia Profile Inspector.
  2. Search and select the game profile.
  3. Set Antialiasing compatibility to 0x08000040.
  4. Set Antialiasing - Behavior Flags to None.
  5. Set Antialiasing - Mode to Override.
  6. Set Antialiasing - Setting to 8x Multisampling or the desired value.
  7. Set Antialiasing - Transparency Supersampling to 8x Sparse Grid Supersampling (optional).
  8. Click Apply changes.

Notes

This works only for Nvidia GPUs.
Force MSAA using dgVoodoo 2[3]
  1. Install dgVoodoo 2.
  2. Open dgVoodooCpl.exe and click on the DirectX tab.
  3. Set Antialiasing(MSAA) to 2x, 4x or 8x.

Notes

When using ThirteenAG's Widescreen Fix, dgVoodoo.conf overrides the global dgVoodoo 2 settings.
Delete or rename dgVoodoo.conf to use the global settings, or edit it directly when using dgVoodooCpl.exe.
Water will be rendered incorrectly in two places in Komodo Shipyard level.
Force SMAA using ReShade[3]
  1. Read the instructions below to properly setup dgVoodoo 2 for this game.
  2. Download the latest version of ReShade and run the Reshade Setup program.
  3. Click Select game, then select SplinterCell2.exe found in <path-to-game>\offline\system.
  4. Select Direct3D 10+ as the rendering API.
  5. Allow to download shaders/effects and choose either all of them or just SMAA.
  6. Run the game, press Shift+F2 to enter the settings menu, follow the tutorial to create a new profile and activate SMAA.
  7. In the Settings tab, under Usage Mode select Performance Mode.
  8. Click X in top right to exit the configuration menu.

Notes

If downloading shader archive fails, download the archive manually and extract it to <path-to-game>\offline\system. When in-game, in the ReShade settings add \reshade-shaders-master\Shaders to end of the Effect Search Paths, and \reshade-shaders-master\Textures to the end of Texture Search Paths field. Restart the game and continue from Step 6.
No water rendering issues.
Using the Night Vision Goggles causes a huge performance loss because ReShade tries to anti-alias the grain effect.

Issues fixed

Rendering issues on modern PCs

Due to relying on now-obsolete functionality in Nvidia GPUs, the default "buffer" shadows are broken on modern hardware. This impacts gameplay as many light sources such as searchlights become invisible but can still trigger alarms.
Sea and water may flicker in some maps.
Torchlight doesn't work in multiplayer.

  2. Extract dgVoodooCpl.exe and \MS\x86\D3D8.dll to <path-to-game>\system.
  3. Open dgVoodooCpl.exe and click on the DirectX tab.
  4. Under Videocard, select GeForce 4 Ti 4800 from the drop-down menu.
  5. Select 256 MB from the VRAM drop-down menu.
  6. Click Apply and OK.

Notes

Requires dgVoodoo 2 2.53 or later (included in the newest version of ThirteenAG's Widescreen Fix).
Use experimental fix[citation needed]
  1. Download the experimental fix.
  2. Copy d3d8.dll to <path-to-game>\offline\system.

Crashes during cutscenes

Crashes may occur at any random point by returning a "General protection fault!" error.
Use a newer version of binkw32.dll
  1. Download the DLL file.
  2. Copy binkw32.dll to <path-to-game>\offline\system.
Set the compatibility mode to Windows 98 / Me[citation needed]

Frame rate issues

Bottom Tooltip Erratic Movement Example. Click to see it in action.
Game is capped at 200 FPS.
Above 60 FPS, some physics of "softbody" materials like curtains are broken[8][citation needed].
If its above 100 FPS, the bottom tooltip has erratic movement[9].
If it exceeds 120 FPS, pathfinding is broken[citation needed].
Use dgVoodoo 2[10]
Limit the frame rate to 60 FPS[citation needed]

HD textures from the PS3 version

Instructions[3]
  1. Download the archive here.
  2. Copy the offline folder to the game directory and overwrite when prompted.

Notes

Although in high resolution, HD textures often look bland (e.g. wood).
Ads have been removed, and the file HUDPC.utx contains a completely different HUD from the original.
Certain textures have transparency problems when applied to the PC version.
For example, the train lights that leak through the grids at the beginning of the second mission.
In this case, the grates do not let light through properly and have a black texture where it should be invisible.
