The Sum of All Fears is a singleplayer and multiplayer first-person action, FPS, shooter and tactical shooter game in the Tom Clancy series.

Issues unresolved

"Error code 85" or "Application load error" on startup

An issue which affects the Steam version specifically, caused by faulty DRM change. Some users report solving it with switching the executable to one without the DRM.

Failed to start game

Can manifest as an error reporting that the game is already running, or Task Manager/Process Explorer showing the game in the task list briefly before it is closed.

Delete dbghelp.dll^[3]
Go to `<path-to-game>`. Delete or rename `dbghelp.dll`.
