Version differences

The July 29, 2014 English release by XSEED contains various improvements from the Japanese release including various features brought over from the PSP port:[1]
  • Widescreen support
  • English voices during battle
  • PSP-exclusive character portraits
  • New Game+
  • Retry Offset
  • Monster Guide

Essential improvements

Add Japanese Voices to dialogue lines, new OST, Videos from PS Vita version, and other mods

Primary method

Adds the Voice acting lines, and many other things, used in the remake The Legend of Heroes: Trails in The Sky FC -EVOLUTION for PS Vita, to the PC Version
Other mods are up to preference since they are not essential and change the art style and music of the game
Intructions:
Instructions[4]
  1. Download the files for FC (First Chapter), from this mod list.
  2. Roll back game version(see Notes) by right-clicking on the game in Steam Library. Then left click on Properties > Betas, and choose the Beta version. April 22nd, 2018 Version worked for me.
  3. Extract all files you downloaded in the first point. There are different modules for Voices, Soundtrack, etc. Every module has a Readme and is divided in sub-modules if you want to install just a few of things, and not everything. Follow the instructions of every Readme, which basically consists in a copy-paste, and eventually click on the .bat file to install/uninstall a sub-module.
  4. (Optional) For the Music Mod, there are 2 variants, and you can also create different Music folders to choose between them via in-game options. The simple procedure is contained in their Readme.

Notes:

  • If you have problems with new Videos, you need to install Video Codecs like K-Lite Standard from here.
  • To enable the Roll Back feature on Steam, you need first to activate Beta Participation for Steam client. To do so, in the Main Window of Steam, click on "Steam" in the upper left corner, "Settings" > "Account", and there change "Beta Participation" setting. After that, restart Steam when asked.

Alternate method

Alternatively, you could try another procedure, with SoraVoice patch from here overwriting all files when asked.

Issues fixed

Screen resolution issues

When playing at a resolution greater than your monitor's native resolution, the game can encounter a variety of issues, such as the mouse not being able to access the full play area, controllers unable to select any options in the main menu, or the game simply not running at all.
Game doesn't run-Mouse seems to not cover the whole screen surface-Controller can't activate any option in main menu[citation needed]
  1. Go in pre-launch Config Tool, clicking on Play in Steam Library, or in the game folder.
  2. Set your native screen resolution, not lower or higher (Nvidia DSR).
  3. If DX9 doesn't work, try with DX8 version of both Config Tool and game executable.
