Widescreen fix[3]
  1. Download an archive for your screen aspect ratio: 5:4, 25:16, 16:10, 15:9, 16:9, 21:9.
  2. Open the downloaded archive and copy the code folder to the installation folder.
  3. Open TIJ.exe with a hex editor such as HxD.
  4. Press Ctrl+F and find the hex values 80 02 00 00 75 2C 81 7D D0 E0 01.
    • Download a cracked .exe if the original one doesn't contain these hex values.
  5. Replace the 80 02 and E0 01 values with:
    • 8004 and 6003 for 1152x864
    • 0005 and D002 for 1280x720
    • 0005 and 0003 for 1280x768
    • 0005 and 2003 for 1280x800
    • 0005 and C003 for 1280x960
    • 0005 and 0004 for 1280x1024
    • 5005 and 0003 for 1360x768
    • 5605 and 0003 for 1366x768
    • 5805 and 0003 for 1368x768
    • A005 and 8403 for 1440x900
    • 4006 and 8403 for 1600x900
    • 4006 and 0004 for 1600x1024
    • 4006 and B004 for 1600x1200
    • 9006 and 1A04 for 1680x1050
    • 8007 and 3804 for 1920x1080

  6. Save the changes.
  7. It's recommended to set scaling mode to fullscreen in your GPU control panel to avoid issues with the UI and menus when playing in widescreen.
  8. Run the game and set 640x480 resolution.

Notes

If done incorrectly, this may corrupt your game files.

Windowed

Force windowed[4]
  1. Download and run DxWnd.
  2. Click on Edit, then Add.
  3. Set Path to any .exe file in <path-to-game>\code\exes\.
  4. Set the window position and size.
  5. Set Desktop for borderless fullscreen windowed.
  6. Click on Video tab, set Initial resolution.
  7. Type in the desktop's resolution beside it.
  8. Click on Input tab, set No mouse events generation.
  9. Click OK, then File and Save.

Each .exe file must be added to DxWnd individually.

  1. SafeDisc retail DRM does not work on Windows 10[1] or Windows 11 and is disabled by default on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 when the KB3086255 update is installed.[2]
