Issues fixed

Running the game on 64-bit Windows

Although the game installer is 16-bit, the actual game is 32-bit. There are two ways of running the game:

#1: Run the game directly from the disk

Running the exe from the disk[citation needed]
  1. In the Game of Life CD, go to the Life folder.
  2. Run the life.exe file to play the game.

#2: Install the game manually

This also allows launching the game without a CD
Setting up the game manually[citation needed]
  1. Create a new folder called "The Game of Life" somewhere on the computer (eg. the Desktop).
  2. In the Game of Life CD, go to the Life folder.
  3. Copy the contents of the folder and paste them into the folder that was created before.
  4. When everything has finished copying, go into the installation folder and run the life.exe file to play the game.

Slowdown on 64-bit Windows

Use dgVoodoo 2[citation needed]
  1. Download and setup dgVoodoo 2.
  2. Once the initial setup is done, go to the MS subfolder.
  3. Copy the DDraw.dll file and paste it into <path-to-game>.
  4. Run the game.
