Game is no longer DRM Free on steam

I tested the steam version of this game for DRM on 10/24/2023.

Installed game with steam, ran it once within steam. Closed game. Moved game folder out of steam and disconnected from internet. Tested game - showed a loading animation - then the game closed, and forced steam startup.

Hmm, I done a clean Windows reinstall, and was able to launch this game without network or even Steam installed.
