Can I cite smth as verified if it was verified by a non-user?

I got a lot of information by asking a friend who owns Hearts of Iron III. But he doesn't have a PCGW account. Can I still say that I verified the info, and have the changes attributed to my account? They aren't baseless claims, I got them from a player. It just so happens that said player doesn't have an account on here. What should I do? (Context: see my latest edits.)

If the player in question made a post somewhere detailing this information, that can be cited. Otherwise, "I got it from a friend" is generally not a valid self-reference source - it HAS to come from actual testing by a user of the wiki.
