I'm a bit confused as to the function of this page. Is it meant to be a be-all-and-end-all of building guides, or just linking to sites that tell that stuff, with just a bit of help here?

I'm hesitant to progress with this without knowing intention. I'm fine to go on wittering about whats the best case, motherboard etc. but if someone then goes "nah, thats not what this is about", I would get annoyed --- Pigjosh 23:20, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

I don't see how this can NOT turn into a flame war (Intel > AMD, ATI > NVIDIA). Though it has its use, for beginners. How do you know if your motherboard supports a new CPU? (I'm still not sure if my AM3 board will support AM3+. The BIOS update says it will but... then there are thermal warnings). Addaboi 00:15, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

I recommend a heavy policy of using sources if this article will include suggested builds. Good sources could include Tom's hardware's "Best gaming CPUs for the money" articles and the recent articles on Rock Paper Shotgun. --Leastlonely 08:40, 27 February 2012 (EST)
