Widescreen fix[1]
  1. Install Patch 4.1.
  2. Open TC2.exe with a hex editor such as HxD.
  3. Press Ctrl+G and go to BEE06 offset.
  4. Replace the 20 value with:
    • 46 for 16:10 screens
    • 4B for 15:9 screens
    • 58 for 16:9 screens
    • 92 for 21:9 screens
  5. If you can't change the value because of no permissions, go to the Properties of the file and uncheck the Read-only box.
  6. Press Ctrl+G and go to BEDF2 offset.
  7. Replace the 80 value with:
    • 55 for 16:10 screens
    • 50 for 15:9 screens
    • 40 for 16:9 screens
    • 02 for 21:9 screens
  8. Save the file.
  9. Download dgVoodoo2 v2.63 or newer from here.
  10. Extract the content of the zip file.
  11. Go to MS/x86 folder and copy D3D9.dll, DDraw.dll and D3Dlmm.dll.
  12. Paste the files in the game directory Codemasters/Toca2/Game.
  13. Start dgVoodoo2 by running it as administrator.
  14. Click on the DirectX tab and choose your monitor resolution.
  15. Click on Apply and exit.

Crash on loading

Unpatched, original ToCA2 from CD-ROM:

  1. Open TC2.exe with hex editor
  2. Scroll down to offset 0x706ED (row 000706E0, column 0D) and change 7E to EB.
  3. Save TC2.exe and play!

Patched 4.1 version:

Download this patcher or do it manually through the below steps:

  1. Open TC2.exe with hex editor
  2. Scroll down to offset 0x7426D (row 00074260, column 0D) and change 7E to EB.
  3. Save TC2.exe and play!
