Viveport is a digital distribution platform operated by HTC.
Unlike most VR game storefront which limits the compatible VR headsets to a few, Viveport use SteamVR (which in turns requires Steam to be installed) and thus compatible with OpenVR and OpenXR-compatible VR headsets. Viveport client can also detect compatible VR titles installed through Steam. Running VR games published on Viveport requires the Viveport client to be running. Formerly, there was a DRM-check for authenticate up to five compatible HTC VR headsets every two weeks, but this had been since dropped.
It was launched on September 30, 2016. In 2017, HTC launched the Viveport VR subscription service. In 2019, Viveport VR subscription service was revamped as Viveport Infinity.
Note that some VR games published on the storefront requires the Viveport Infinity Standard subscription.[1]
