Digital Distribution

Key points

DRM: DRM-free Digital distribution platform with optional client and downloader. Some games require third-party accounts for online features.
Refund policy: 30 days if not downloaded or for technical issues; see the 30 Day Money Back Guarantee page for details.[2][3]
Two-factor authentication: via email
Some games sold through third parties activate on GOG.com; see the Reclaim Your Games page for details.
Permanent free access to select titles is available; see the Free GOG.com Games page for a list.
As of 2012, the store is now branded as GOG.com, due to the decision of releasing newer games . It's former name was Good Old Games, but they still continue to publish old ones.
GOG Connect: Some games can be redeemed for free on GOG.com by linking a Steam account.
Steam account can't be unlinked, and games can only be redeemed for a limited time, a process that requires the user to log in and take action. See the FAQ page for more details.
Some games that are being sold, may be in not so recent version. Due to the developers treating it's consumers as second class citizens. These games are listed in this gogMix, changes and informations can be found in this forum discussion.

Sales

Most big sales, let you redeem a free game, depending on how many experience points you get by buying the game or doing objectives.

Sales in GOG.com happen in regular basis, the most recent one called Weekly Sale, which starts in each Monday at 11 AM GMT, additional games are added to it in each Friday at the same hour the sale starts. Big sales usually happen a week or two before Steam's happens and adds themed bundles on sale, along with single games in every day. This is a best moment to redeem Steam games to GOG via GOG Connect when the sale is coming to an end.
