Essential improvements

Fix color depth

On modern Windows systems, DroidWorks often crashes upon starting due to incompatibilities with DirectX. This can be fixed using DxWnd, which also allows DroidWorks to run in a window.

Using DxWnd[citation needed]
  1. Open DxWnd, click on Edit, then Add.
  2. Type in a name, and browse for the .exe file path.
  3. Under the Main tab, set whether or not you want to run DroidWorks in a window.
  4. Under the DirectX tab, set the renderer to SDL, SDL2, or OpenGL.
  5. Also refer to DxWnd's help menu to read about the documentation.

Notes

DroidWorks also suffers from timing issues that cause the in-game clock to run slightly fast and the physics to malfunction (especially on inclines). Forcing VSync to "ON" in the DirectX(2) tab will correct the timer at the cost of performance during mouse movement. An ideal solution has yet to be found, as the mouse seems to affect the screen refresh.
