sora is an anime sci-fi shooter game developed by Orange_Juice and published by Rockin' Android. It is the prequel to SUGURI and was developed using Luna3D.

The game was originally released during Summer Comiket 78 on August 14, 2010. An English localization was planned at one point by Rockin' Android, but the publishers had a falling out with the game's developers, Orange_Juice, and was ultimately canceled. Another publisher, ΩTH, later acquired the rights to publish the game and released it overseas through GamersGate in 2012, however, many players discovered that ΩTH released a low-quality localization that featured bugs that were not present in the game's original Japanese release and poorly implemented SecuROM DRM.[1][2][3] It led to an online petition being formed by fans of the SUGURI series to get the game relocalized by another publisher, but the petition failed. Years later, Fruitbat Factory, whom previously localized Orange_Juice's 100% Orange Juice!, eventually acquired the rights to sora and released a faithful localization of the game through GamersGate, Steam, and directly from their own website on January 5, 2016. The previous 2012 release by ΩTH was also removed from GamersGate.

The current 2016 re-release of sora by Fruitbat Factory features improvements such higher resolution graphics, remastered cutscenes, native keyboard remapping, XInput controller support, and a faithful localization with some assistance from Sara Leen.

The original C78 version runs at 640x480 only, and the settings to pillarbox the game for 16:9 and 16:10 displays from the launcher do not work properly, making the image much smaller than intended.
