|introduction     = Sonic Lost World is a third-person platform game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega.
 +

|release history  = After its exclusive Wii U debut in October 2013, a PC port of the game developed by Sega Europe was released via Steam on November 2, 2015.
 +

 +
|current state    = The PC version of Sonic Lost World lacks multiple features of the original Wii U version, including multiplayer, RC vehicles, the Circus mini-game, and the Yoshi's Island Zone and The Legend of Zelda Zone DLC levels. Additionally, gamma correction is missing and depth-of-field ordering is broken, lowering the graphical fidelity of levels. Community mods are available to restore most of the features.

Notes
ii High frame rate may cause some physics to be more intense or break them entirely or otherwise make the game behave in unexpected ways. 120 FPS for example, will cause the last part of Frozen Factory Zone 4 to become unplayable due to the friction of snow becoming too intense, making it impossible to gain enough speed before the ice slope to pass the huge gap before the end: However, 144 FPS is playable on that stage by seemingly making the ice physics too intense and by extension cancelling out the increased snow friction; But it also makes it impossible to accelerate on ice by constantly stopping the character's momentum once he hits a certain speed, requiring the player to let the character slide instead of actively doing it.

Sonic Lost World is a third-person platform game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega.

After its exclusive Wii U debut in October 2013, a PC port of the game developed by Sega Europe was released via Steam on November 2, 2015.[2]

The PC version of Sonic Lost World lacks multiple features of the original Wii U version, including multiplayer, RC vehicles, the Circus mini-game, and the Yoshi's Island Zone and The Legend of Zelda Zone DLC levels. Additionally, gamma correction is missing and depth-of-field ordering is broken, lowering the graphical fidelity of levels. Community mods are available to restore most of the features.

Anisotropic filtering (AF)
See the glossary page for potential workarounds.
Anti-aliasing (AA)
FXAA via Lost World Essentials.
Nvidia users can force SGSSAA in Nvidia Profile Inspector with the 0x084010C5 anti-aliasing compatibility flag. Causes minor shader aliasing, especially at 2x and 4x; 4x or 8x is recommended.[3]
Vertical sync (Vsync)
See the glossary page for potential workarounds.
60 FPS
Frame rate is capped at 60 FPS. FMV cutscenes are pre-rendered at 30 FPS.
120+ FPS
See High frame rate. If physics related issues are encountered, shift the max FPS parameter to higher or lower values.
High dynamic range display (HDR)
Use dgVoodoo 2 and either Auto HDR on Windows 11 or Special K.

High frame rate

Change frame rate throttle with a command line argument[4]

--F30 - This will change the expected throttle to 30 FPS and may help with machines around the minimum requirements.

--F# - Where # is the maximum desired FPS. Recommended to reduce frame rate related issues as much as possible.

--F - This will completely disable frame rate locking and allow the machine to run as best as it can; this is the most unstable mode, but it can be tried as a last resort.

Notes

High frame rates may cause some physics to be more intense or make the game behave in unexpected ways.
 • 120 FPS, for example, will cause the last part of Frozen Factory Zone 4 to become unplayable due to the friction of snow becoming too intense, making it impossible to gain enough speed before the ice slope to pass the huge gap before the end.
 • However, 144 FPS is playable on that stage by seemingly making the ice physics too intense and by extension cancelling out the increased snow friction, but also makes it impossible to accelerate on ice by constantly stopping Sonic's momentum once he hits a certain speed, requiring the player to let Sonic slide instead of actively doing it.

Instructions

To set the window style options, find the bytes 25 FF FF FB FF 0D 00 00 CB 00 50 6A F0 51, then replace 00 00 CB 00 with your windowing parameters (e.g. 00 00 CF 00 makes the window resizable).
