- Game data files (.pak files) are ordinary ZIP archives and can be extracted and modified.
- There are many .cfg files within .pak files with configuration variables. You can experiment with different setting by placing these cvars in
config.cfg
or autoexec.cfg
.

Issues fixed
Errors at launch
- Some users have reported that having ASCII characters in your Steam nickname will cause errors at launch.
Change your nickname to one with basic characters only[5]
|
Game doesn't save vsync settings
Activate Vsync and change your native resolution to another resolution and then back to your native resolution.
|
Notes
- The resolution must be changed every time the game is opened, otherwise the game will not accept vsync even if it is activated.
|
Low/inconsistent framerate with V-Sync enabled
- Updates to Windows 10 have resulted in incompatibility with older CryEngine games, which may result in a capped frame rate.[6]
Set Low Latency Mode to Ultra[7]
|
- Go to the Nvidia control panel, set Low Latency Mode to Ultra for Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 in the "Manage 3D Settings" tab and press Apply.
|
Set max frame rate to 1000 in Nvidia control panel[8]
|
- Go to the Nvidia control panel, set max frame rate to 1000 for Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 in the "Manage 3D Settings" tab and press Apply.
|
Apply RTSS framerate limiter[9][10]
|
- Download and install RivaTuner Statistics Server.
- Run it.
- Click the "add" button and navigate to where you installed Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 and add SniperGhostWarrior2.exe.
- Set framerate limiter to any number (e.g. 200).
- Minimize (don't close) the program.
|
Run the game at screen refresh rate
- CryEngine 3 may set the monitor's refresh rate to the lowest supported refresh rate, resulting in choppy gameplay even if the internal GPU render shows a high FPS.
Override refresh rate set by game[11]
|
- Download 3Dmigoto.
- Copy the files in
x32 to <path-to-game>\Bin32\ .
- Open
d3dx.ini .
- Change
;refresh_rate=60 to the desired value, and remove the semicolon (e.g. refresh_rate=144 ).
- Change
hunting=1 to ;hunting=1 .
- Save the changes and close the file.
|
Play the game in DirectX 9[11]
|
Workaround with a deprecated fullscreen setting[12]
|
- Open
<path-to-game>\system.cfg .
- Set
Fullscreen to 0.
Notes
- If the in-game fullscreen setting is set to on, the game will return to fullscreen with unlocked framerate upon reaching the menu.
