Replace executable[1]
  1. Download jackfuste's fix.
  2. Replace the <path-to-game>\sekiro.exe with the one inside the fix (using 7zip).

Notes

Some issues with red vignetting and other effects that are in the 16:9 area. These can be fixed using another jackfuste fix that stretches or disables these textures entirely.
Alternatively, you can download a mod from Nexusmods that let's you turn off select parts of the HUD individually, including vignette effects.
Use SekiroFpsUnlockAndMore and enable "Add Custom Resolution"

Field of view (FOV)

Use SekiroFpsUnlockAndMore
FOV can be set to any value between -95% and +95%.
Use WSGF FOV patch[1]
  1. Download the FOV patch and extract the files.
  2. Run the file for the desired FOV change (e.g. FOV+75%.exe) and patch the game's executable.

Issues fixed

Performance issues

Reports show having multiple monitors plugged in causes performance issues.
Unplug non-primary monitors[3]

Run the game at screen refresh rate

Fullscreen mode defaults to 60 Hz even if the screen refresh rate is set higher than that.
Override refresh rate set by game, with 3Dmigoto[4]
  1. Download 3Dmigoto (or download Disable_textures_v3.7z if you want to remove texture overlays).
  2. Extract d3d11.dll, d3dcompiler_46.dll, and d3dx.ini from x64\ to the installation folder.
  3. Open d3dx.ini and go to the [Device] section.
  4. Change ;refresh_rate=60 to refresh_rate=120 or your desired refresh rate (make sure to remove the ;).
  5. Change hunting=1 to hunting=0 under the [Hunting] section to turn off shader hunting options. Optionally you can delete everything else in the d3dx.ini besides the 2 lines [Device] and refresh_rate=120 should anything be causing you issues.
Override refresh rate set by game, with Special K[5]

Install and override the refresh rate using Special K.

Override refresh rate set by game, with Nvidia graphics card[6]
  1. Start the Nvidia Control Panel.
  2. Go to "Manage 3D Settings" in the left pane, then "Program Settngs" in the right pane.
  3. Click "Add", locate Sekiro and add the selected program.
  4. In the Feature list, set "Preferred refresh rate" to "Highest available".
  5. In the Feature list, set "Vertical sync" to "Off".
  6. Click "Apply" in the bottom right of the window.
Override refresh rate set by game, with AMD graphics card[7]
  1. Start Radeon Settings from the desktop.
  2. Go to "Gaming" and open the profile for Sekiro or add it manually.
  3. Set "Wait for Vertical Refresh" to "Enhanced Sync".
  4. Launch the game in windowed mode and switch to fullscreen once in-game.

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/814380/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (814380) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
