The game engine may allow for manual configuration of the game via its variables. See the Unreal Engine 4 page for more details.

Ultra-widescreen

By default, the game is pillarboxed on 21:9 monitors.
Hex values change for 21:9 support
  1. Download HxD hex a editor from here.
  2. Open HxD hex editor and click on File then Open.
  3. Choose SamuraiShodown-Win64-Shipping.exe found in Epic Games\SamuraiShodown\SamuraiShodown\Binaries\Win64.
  4. Click on Search, then Find and choose the Hex-values tab.
  5. In the Seach for: box, type 39 8E E3 3F and replace every value you find with 26 B4 17 40 for 2560x1080 or 8E E3 18 40 for 3440x1440.
  6. Save and exit.
Menus and FMVs will stay pillarboxed.

Widescreen resolution

The in-game options can only go up to 1080p for the time being.
SNK is aware of the issue and will address it on a future patch.[2]
Custom resolution[3]
  1. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  2. Open GameUserSettings.ini.
  3. Find ResolutionSixeX to change it to your desired value, ie: 3840.
  4. Find ResolutionSixeY to change it to your desired value, ie: 2160.
  5. (Optional) Find LastuserConfirmedResolutionSixeX to change it to your desired value, ie: 3840.
  6. (Optional) Find LastuserConfirmedResolutionSixeY to change it to your desired value, ie: 2160.
  7. Save the changes and run the game.

Vertical sync

No Vsync option in-game for the time being.
SNK is aware of the issue and will address it on a future patch.[2]
Enable Vsync[4]
  1. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  2. Open GameUserSettings.ini.
  3. Change bUseVSync to True.
  4. Save the changes and run the game.
