Input

Controller support

For button prompts the game seems to only recognize a small set of controllers. Unrecognized controllers display generic button prompts.

Replace generic button prompts with Xbox, Switch or PlayStation buttons[2]
  1. Navigate to the game's installed directory and locate the file TaueConfig.json
  2. Open this file in your editor of choice and under Pads locate the entry for your controller by checking the mDeviceName. If you are using Steam's controller input, it is likely to be "Controller (XBOX 360 For Windows)".
  3. A couple of lines below the mDeviceName entry matching your controller will be a line reading "Preset" : "-"
  4. Change the "-" to read "XboxOne", "Switch" or "PS4", then save the file.

Notes

PlayStation button mappings are not correct for a DualShock 4 when used through Steam Input - the face buttons do not match.

  1. 1.0 1.1 When running this game without elevated privileges (Run as administrator option), write operations against a location below %PROGRAMFILES%, %PROGRAMDATA%, or %WINDIR% might be redirected to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore on Windows Vista and later (more details).
  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths).
