Fails to Launch / Hangs / Freezes After Intro

This issue can be caused by an unknown factor that disappears when restarting the computer.

Corrupted/Invalid save

Remove saved games
This fix will erase saved games in Saints Row IV. Delete files in <Steam-folder>/userdata/<user-id>/206420/remote. If these files are restored by Steam Cloud Sync, you can open them in a text editor and save them as blank files. You may also need to disable steam cloud synchronization. Delete <Steam-folder>/userdata/<user-id>/206420/remotecache.vdf
